I am a sociologist of religion and politics whose research examines how value conflicts, religion, and democracy intersect in contemporary societies. My work has contributed to international debates on culture wars, illiberalism, transnational conservative mobilization, and democratic pluralism. It has been recognized with international book awards and major competitive research grants, including a European Research Council Starting Grant and, most recently, an Italian FIS3 Advanced Grant.

I am Full Professor of Sociology at LUISS Università di Roma and director of the REORDERS Lab on religion, democracy, and political conflict. I currently lead a five-country research project examining the role of religious actors in democratic pluralism and political conflict.

Beyond academia, I engage with policymakers, civil society, and the media on questions of religion, democracy, pluralism, and political polarization.
