Publications

Publications are at the heart of my scholarly work and intellectual collaborations. My research spans sociology of religion, political sociology, and international relations, with a focus on religion, democracy, transnational conservative mobilization, and global value conflicts. I am committed to open access, and wherever possible I make my work freely available through this website or academic repositories.

My most recent books are The Global Fight Against LGBTI Rights (New York University Press, 2024, with Phillip Ayoub), which received multiple international book awards in 2025, and The Moralist International (Fordham University Press, 2022, with Dmitry Uzlaner), which was translated into Italian in 2024.
